Kenya national women's football team Harambee Starlets are the winners of the 2019 Cecafa Women Championship after defeating holders and hosts Tanzania's Kilimanjaro Queens 2-0 in Monday's final at the Chamazi Stadium -Tanzania.
Impressive forward Jentrix Shikangwa came off the bench to score a second half brace to take her tournament's tally to nine goals and help Kenya lift their first ever regional title unbeaten. It was a sweet revenge for Kenya who lost 2-1 to Tanzania in the 2016 final in Gulu, Uganda
Uganda Crested Cranes beat Burundi 2-0 in the third place play-offs tie to win the bronze medal thanks to goals from substitutes Shamira Nalugya and Amina Nababi. Uganda will have to wait longer for their first CECAFA Women Championship title.
