SOROTI - Police in Soroti district are investigating a tragic case in which a 22-year-old man, Elasu Francis, committed suicide by hanging following an allegation of defilement.
According to reports, the incident was first reported to the authorities by Oluka Moses on January 8, 2025, at approximately 3:50 PM. Elasu Francis, aged 22, took his life on the same day in Otucho village, Dakabella Parish, Arapai Sub-county, Soroti district. The exact time of death remains unknown.
Earlier that day, at around 2:23 PM, Okiror Silver filed a report at Odudui Police Station, alleging that Elasu Francis had defiled his 17-year-old daughter, Ideu Judith. In response, the police opened a case under SD REF 10/08/01/2025, Odudui Police Station, Soroti District.
