The highly anticipated 'Alobo Cup' officially kicked off today, drawing participation from 24 teams across Soroti City. 

 

The tournament promises a vibrant platform for women to showcase their football prowess and cultivate a stronger sense of community unity. 

 

The launch event, held at the Agora Primary School grounds, saw Member of Parliament Alobo emphasize the tournament's significance as a powerful symbol of affirmative action aimed at empowering women through sports. 

 

"Through this tournament, we want to inspire more women to join sports," MP Alobo stated, highlighting the long-term vision behind the initiative. 

 

The launch event was further energized by electrifying performances from local artists Josh Rash and John Francis Angiro, who captivated the audience with their vibrant sets.

 

The official tournament launch for the Soroti City East division is scheduled for this Sunday at Kichinjaji Primary School, promising another exciting day of football and community engagement. 

 

The Alobo Cup is set to be a landmark event, fostering talent, unity, and empowerment within the region.
