KUMI - In Kumi Municipality, a police officer tragically lost his life after being struck by a speeding truck.
Brazil Otoi, aged 56, was hit by a speeding truck with license plate number UBE 576Z along Omatenga road around 7:00 PM on Monday, May 6, 2024.
Cosmas Edatu, the Kumi District Police Commander, explained that Officer Otoi was struck while returning home after completing his duty.
Efforts were made to rush him to Atutur Health Center IV, but sadly, he was declared dead upon arrival due to severe bleeding.
Edatu also mentioned that the truck involved in the incident has been impounded and is currently held at Kumi Central Police Station.
