Police in Bukedea has arrested and detained an employee working with a gateway bus company in their branch offices in Bukedea town to aid in the investigation of an alleged rape and defilement case of an 18 years old woman ( whose identity shall not be disclosed at her behest) passenger.
The suspect identified as Kedi Hussein a male adult a resident in Bukedea town council took advantage of the victim who had arrived in Bukedea town from Kampala on Thursday 25th, August 2022 at 01:00 AM ,sat at the verandah of gateway offices where Kedi took her inside the office in the pretext of helping her.
The suspect while inside the office locked the door and forced the victim into unprotected sex with him and after completing this despicable act, he opened the office and walked away leaving the victim in the office who stayed till morning whereon lodged a complaint at Bukedea Central Police station.
According to SP Ageca Oscar Gregg the PRO of East Kyoga, the police of the territorial jurisdiction of Bukedea Central Police station visited the scene of the crime, examined the victim, and obtained statements from all persons relevant to the case pending submission to the office of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions at the earliest convenience and case vide CRB: 400/2022 opened up on 25/08/202 as the suspect awaits to be taken to court.
