As one way to balance both girl and boy children’s right to education, Rtd Agriculturalist Mr. Edeket Venasio has pleaded with parents to educate their male and female children.
He claims that since government-aided primary and secondary schools are now available in all sub-counties, parents must ensure that their children receive an education that extends to university for both girls and boys.
Edeket, an old boy of Teso College, says that in 1980, a group of OBs, including Omaria, Edeket Vanasio, and Beseri Akabwai electoral commissioner, developed the idea for Soroti University to build in Teso by the government, which is currently in existence and that Teso students should take advantage of.
However, Okello urges all well-wishers to work together to raise the bar for education in the Teso areas.
He pronounced this during the weekend while remembering the former agricultural commissioner in the Aleles-Akoboi sub-county in the Katakwi district recently.
Simon Peter Okello, also known as Erekedia, of Omodingo village, Akoboi sub county pushes parents to give their kids their educational materials on time.
In the meantime, former Ngariam County candidate Charles Harmer Odeng Ojale has exhorted Katakwi learners to follow the advice and assume the role of future leaders.
