The search for the next queen of advocacy and grace is officially underway following the grand launch of the Miss Citizen International 2026 beauty pageant.
Organized by the Citizen Pageant Foundation, the upcoming fourth edition of the contest will culminate in a glittering grand finale on October 24 at the Adere Lounge and Grill. The event is set to bring together inspiring young women from across the country to compete for the prestigious crown.
Operating under the powerful theme "Her Voice, Her Health, Her Power," the pageant goes beyond traditional beauty standards to focus heavily on social impact and health advocacy.
According to the Foundation’s CEO, Akol Caroline, the organization was born out of personal tragedy after she lost her mother to cancer. Driven by this experience, the foundation uses the platform to champion health awareness, placing a primary focus on the fight against cancer and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
From its humble beginnings as a regional pageant in 2023, the event has grown exponentially, officially transitioning to the national stage for its 2025 edition.
Registration is now officially open for prospective contestants. The journey to the crown will feature a rigorous and exciting lineup of activities, including official auditions, a contestant unveiling ceremony, and an intensive boot camp designed to build leadership and personal development skills.
Reflecting on her reign, the current Miss Citizen International queen, Akol Evangeline Johnson, shared her pride in fulfilling her duties as a titleholder. During her reign, Johnson spearheaded mental health awareness campaigns in various academic institutions and spearheaded community outreach programs in partnership with the Citizen Pageant Foundation.
Johnson encouraged young women across the country to step forward and participate in the 2026 pageant, emphasizing that the platform offers life-changing opportunities to build self-confidence and essential life skills.
