SERERE — Love has written a new chapter for the Halcyon and Jeressar High School communities after two staff members from the neighbouring institutions celebrated their union in a colourful ceremony held on Saturday in Mutebe-Omagara, Kateta Sub County, Serere District.
Oula Benjamin, a staff member at Halcyon High School, and Ariango Miriam, a staff member at Jeressar High School, brought together their families, friends, colleagues and well-wishers to celebrate their union.
The occasion was filled with joy, laughter and heartfelt moments as the two families came together to celebrate the couple and witness the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
The union also created a special connection between the two school communities, with colleagues from Halcyon and Jeressar joining in the celebrations and congratulating their fellow staff members.
Speaking during the ceremony, Richard Omusei, Resident Director of Halcyon Foundation Schools, called for blessings upon the couple and wished them a long and fulfilling life together.
Meanwhile, Asekenye Bertha, Head Teacher of Jeressar High School, appreciated the school administration for supporting the couple and contributing to the success of the colourful ceremony.
Bertha also described the union as a new bond between the two schools, noting that Halcyon and Jeressar are now connected as in-laws.
In a light-hearted moment, she encouraged Halcyon staff to take advantage of the new relationship between the two institutions, joking that several members of the Jeressar High School staff are still single.
The ceremony was not only a celebration of Benjamin and Miriam’s union but also a moment of unity that strengthened the relationship between their colleagues and the two school communities.
Family members, friends and colleagues wished the couple a happy and prosperous journey, encouraging them to build their life together on love, respect, understanding and unity.
For Halcyon and Jeressar, Saturday’s celebration became a memorable reminder that sometimes, love can cross the school gates, unite two hearts and bring two communities together.
