SOROTI - In a spirit of unity and hope, Jeressar High School held a Prayer Day for its Senior Six students today, as they prepare to sit for their national examinations next week. The event, held under the theme "I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me," was attended by students, teachers, parents, and school leaders. This gathering served as both a spiritual and motivational boost, encouraging students to approach their exams with faith, resilience, and integrity.

Among the students who had an interview with our reporter, Eyagu Innocent expressed gratitude for the uplifting atmosphere. “Today’s prayers have given me renewed energy and confidence. I am reminded of the importance of setting my mind on my goals with trust in God. I appreciate our teachers for organizing this event and encourage my fellow candidates to place their faith first and uphold integrity during exams.”

Egilu George shared similar sentiments, emphasizing the importance of putting faith at the center of their efforts. “Our preparation includes not only academic readiness but also prayer, which reinforces our confidence. I urge all candidates to stay focused as we enter this crucial period, and I thank our teachers for their dedication.”

Ademere Betty acknowledged the emotional support gained from the event, noting, “This prayer session has lifted our spirits, bringing us closer to God and strengthening our determination. We are deeply grateful to the school for organizing this moment of blessing.”

Apolot Veronica Okwii, another candidate, expressed how the day restored her hope and resilience. “Today has been a day of renewal for me. I had moments of doubt, but now I feel inspired to face the exams with faith and optimism.”

The Chairman of the Board of Governors, Lawrence Oyamatum, addressed the candidates, underscoring the importance of faith and humility in their journey. “As a school, we are here today to seek God’s guidance for you all. Our dedicated teachers have done their part, and we believe that you are prepared. Remember, each of you has a unique path, and with humility and commitment, you will achieve success.”

Headteacher Asekenye Bertha highlighted the school’s commitment to its students’ holistic development.

“Today is significant for Jeressar High School as we entrust our students to God. Our motto, ‘God Our Hope,’ reflects our belief that spiritual guidance is essential to their success. We also call upon parents to support their children in prayer, as we anticipate strong results from our 387 Senior Six candidates.”
