KABERAMAIDO DISTRICT - Omoding Herbert Olaboro OMO, the former NRM aspirant for Soroti City East, has officially endorsed President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for a sixth term in office. The endorsement came on November 20, 2024, during President Museveni’s Wealth Creation assessment tour in Kaberemaido District, where OMO joined leading NRM figures in publicly expressing support for the President’s continued leadership ahead of the 2026 elections.
The event, which attracted a large crowd of local leaders, elders, and residents, featured key figures from the National Resistance Movement (NRM), including Vice President Hon. Jessica Alupo, NRM Secretary General Hon. Dr. Todwong Richard, and Hon. Dr. Mike Mukula. Together, they demonstrated their unified backing for President Museveni, who has been at the helm of Uganda’s leadership for over three decades.
In an interview with media, OMO expressed his deep admiration for President Museveni’s transformative leadership, particularly in the areas of infrastructure development, national security, and economic empowerment. He underscored the tangible impact of the President’s Wealth Creation program, which aims to alleviate poverty and create sustainable livelihoods for Ugandans, particularly in rural communities.
“Under President Museveni’s leadership, we have seen tremendous progress," OMO stated. "From improved infrastructure to enhanced security, and most importantly, the Wealth Creation programs that have empowered our people, Uganda has experienced growth and stability. As a leader from Teso, I proudly stand here today to endorse President Museveni for another term because I am confident that under his leadership, our region and our country will continue to prosper.”
The endorsement was met with applause from the crowd, signaling strong support for the President’s candidacy in 2026.
The Wealth Creation assessment tour in Kaberemaido highlighted the success of Museveni’s rural development programs, with local leaders praising the President for prioritizing initiatives that address poverty and provide economic opportunities to Uganda’s rural population. OMO, along with other NRM leaders, emphasized that the President’s focus on these issues has made a direct and positive impact on the lives of many Ugandans.
