The organizing committee for the burial of the late Bishop John Eitu, esteemed leader of the Global Harvest Church, has announced a tentative program for his funeral.
Revered for his impactful spiritual leadership and charismatic personality, Bishop Eitu passed away yesterday at Mulago National Referral Hospital, where he had been receiving intensive care.
Rev. Emecu Simon and Soroti City West MP Jonathan Ebwalu, who are members of the organizing committee, have confirmed the details of the arrangements, ensuring a dignified farewell that honors Bishop Eitu's legacy and contributions to his community and church.
The body of Bishop Eitu has been entrusted to A+ Funeral Services for management and preparation.
The funeral program will commence with a service on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at The Life Church Namasuba along Entebbe Road. The service will begin at 10:00 AM, after which the body will be transported to Soroti. Upon arrival, a vigil will be held at Bishop Eitu’s residence in the Senior Quarters of Soroti, where family, friends, and members of the community can gather to pay their respects.
On Thursday, October 31, 2024, a church service and vigil will take place at the Global Harvest Church in Soroti. This gathering will provide an opportunity for the congregation and others touched by Bishop Eitu’s ministry to come together in shared reflection and remembrance.
The body will then be taken to Otuboi, Kalaki District, on Friday, November 1, 2024. There, Bishop Eitu’s ancestral home will host the final farewell. The burial ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, November 2, 2024, beginning with a church service at 10:00 AM in Otuboi, where Bishop Eitu will be laid to rest.
The organizing committee invites all those whose lives were touched by Bishop Eitu to join in this final journey, celebrating a life dedicated to faith, compassion, and community.
