The police of Soroti Central Police Station are actively investigating an incident where a person with special needs or physical disability was allegedly sodomized by a 20 years old adult who is in custody.
According to preliminary findings, the suspect only identified as Opolot Micheal, a 20-year resident of town talks within Soroti city on Wednesday 16/08/2023 at around 00:30 AM was found having canal knowledge of a 49-year male adult with physical informatics and of unsound mind at Soroti City sports ground where a concert was organized.
The two were promptly arrested and taken to Soroti Central Police Station where a case of unnatural offence vide CRB 187/2023 of Soroti CPS was opened.
According to the PRO East Kyoga, SP Ageca Oscar Gregg in a press statement," The police have recorded a statement from the accused person and talked to the victim who has been examined by medical doctors as a tool to confirm the incident and act as evidence for prosecution in courts of Judicature",
" We would like to inform the public that sex between members of the same sex is an offense against the laws of Uganda to with the Anti Homosexuality Act and further inform them that acts against public decency such as sex in public places, and nakedness carried out personally or in concert with others carry penal sanction", he added.
