SOROTI CITY — Triple A Nursery and Primary School has held its first-ever Primary Seven candidates’ blessing ceremony, bringing together parents, teachers, school administrators and pupils to pray for the success of its inaugural P.7 class ahead of the 2026 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
The ceremony was held at the school, located in Opiyai B along Serere Road in Soroti City, as the institution, which is about three years old, prepares to present its first cohort of candidates for the national examinations scheduled for November 3 and 4, 2026.
The blessing ceremony was led by Reverend Tom Otai of St. Paul’s Church of Uganda, Oderai, who encouraged parents to remain committed to their responsibilities and continue supporting their children’s education.
Drawing from 1 Corinthians 10:13, Rev. Otai urged parents to remain focused despite the challenges they may encounter while raising and educating their children.
He also commended parents for stepping up to pay school fees and encouraged them to take advantage of available opportunities to support their children’s academic progress.
Aculokin Samuel, the Primary Seven class teacher, said the school had approximately 25 candidates, comprising eight boys and 17 girls.
He noted that when the pupils first enrolled, their academic performance was not encouraging, but the dedication of the teaching staff had helped improve their preparedness for the national examinations.
According to Aculokin, the candidates have completed more than 30 sets of examinations as part of their preparation, giving the teachers confidence that the learners will achieve good grades.
He said teachers were under considerable pressure to ensure the candidates perform well, adding that the school had invested significant effort in preparing them for the examinations.
Aculokin urged parents to begin planning for their children’s education beyond primary school to ensure they smoothly transition to the next level of learning.
He also encouraged candidates to follow the guidance given by their teachers, take care of themselves and remain focused throughout the examination period.
The school’s head teacher, Elungat Moses, thanked parents for entrusting the institution with their children and appreciated the school directors for supporting the staff and committing resources towards serving the community.
He urged the candidates to remain committed to their studies and uphold the school’s reputation by working hard to achieve good results.
Elungat also appealed to parents to continue praying for their children and the school, while ensuring that learners remain safe, disciplined and engaged in productive activities while at home after their examinations.
He cautioned parents against allowing their children to become idle during the holiday period, encouraging them to provide guidance and maintain their involvement in their children’s development.
Alaso Rose Mary, the parents’ representative, urged parents not to give up despite the challenges they may face, but instead remain focused and continue praying for their children.
She emphasised that parents’ physical presence at school activities plays an important role in motivating learners and giving them confidence as they prepare for their final examinations.
Alaso also commended the teachers and the entire school staff for their dedication and the work they have done to support the children’s education.
She encouraged the candidates to remain focused until the last examination paper, reminding them that determination and discipline would be important to their success.
Maggie Menya, the school director, applauded the teachers for their support and commitment, while thanking parents for continuing to stand with the school as it prepares its first P.7 candidates for the national examinations.
She urged parents to continue praying for the learners and providing the support they need during the final stages of their preparation.
Menya expressed optimism that the school would celebrate good results when the 2026 PLE results are released in February 2027.
She added that the candidates’ experience with multiple sets of examinations had helped familiarise them with examination conditions and strengthen their readiness for the national assessments.
The blessing ceremony marks an important milestone for Triple A Nursery and Primary School as it prepares to present its first group of Primary Seven candidates, with the school community united in its hopes for a successful examination outcome.
