President Museveni Grants Official Burial for Hon. Onapito Ekomoloit

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has granted an official burial for Hon. Onapito Ekomoloit, the former Member of Parliament for Amuria County and Presidential Press Secretary, following his untimely death. The National Organising Committee (N.O.C) will work in coordination with the Parliament of Uganda to arrange the funeral program.

 

Onapito Ekomoloit passed away on Friday morning at Kampala Hospital, after battling internal organ complications for over two months. His death has sent shockwaves across the nation, as Uganda mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished sons.

 

Hon. Onapito was a towering figure in Uganda’s political, corporate, and media spheres. He notably served as the Board Chairperson of Nile Breweries Limited (NBL), where his visionary leadership played a key role in the company’s growth and sustainability efforts. His influence in the corporate world was undeniable, yet his contributions went beyond business.

 

As a journalist, Ekomoloit made his mark as a prominent voice in Uganda’s media landscape, earning widespread respect. His transition to politics saw him represent Amuria County in Parliament, where his intellectual rigor and dedication to public service stood out. Furthermore, his tenure as Presidential Press Secretary showcased his ability to bridge the gap between the presidency and the media, handling communications with professionalism and integrity.

 

Plans for Hon. Onapito’s official burial will be overseen by the N.O.C and Parliament, with details on the funeral arrangements to be communicated soon.
