Students at Halcyon High School have expressed confidence ahead of the forthcoming national examinations, attributing their preparedness to the guidance and support they have received from their teachers and parents.
The confidence was evident today during the briefing of candidates held at the school premises, where candidates were encouraged to remain focused and trust the knowledge and skills they have acquired throughout their studies.
Speaking to our reporter, Amunyir Elda Winnie said the teachers had made significant efforts to equip the candidates with the knowledge required to approach the examinations with confidence.
She also thanked the teachers and parents for their tireless commitment and support throughout the candidates' academic journey.
Opolon Emmanuel Eric, a student, said the journey towards the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) examinations had been guided by God, adding that the candidates were ready to face the examinations.
The school's Headteacher, Onyait Paul Mark, revealed that 553 candidates are expected to sit for the examinations this year.
Onyait commended the teaching staff for their efforts in covering the required academic content and preparing the candidates for the examinations.
He said the candidates were not under undue pressure because they had spent considerable time reading and preparing for the examinations.
The headteacher further urged the candidates to trust their abilities, remain calm and apply the knowledge they have acquired throughout their studies.
He encouraged them to avoid fear and distractions, emphasizing the importance of confidence, discipline and careful reading of examination questions.
With the school administration, teachers, parents and candidates all playing their respective roles, Halcyon High School enters the examination period with optimism and a strong sense of preparedness.
