Granit Xhaka’s agent has confirmed the Arsenal midfielder has reached an agreement to join Hertha Berlin.
The 27-year-old was stripped of the captaincy in November after he clashed with Arsenal fans at the Emirates Stadium during the 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace on October 27.
After a brief period on the sidelines, Xhaka returned to the team and was even given a start in Mikel Arteta’s first game in charge as Arsenal drew 1-1 with Bournemouth on Boxing Day.
Before the match, Arteta also insisted that the Switzerland international is a key part of his plans going forward but Xhaka is keen to return to the Bundesliga and has agreed a deal in principle with Hertha, although the German club has not yet reached an agreement with Arsenal.
According to Blick, Hertha have offered £21.3m to Arsenal for Xhaka. The Gunners spent around £30m to sign Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2016.
