SERERE – Members of Parliament representing Serere District have pledged to put aside political differences and work together to accelerate development, signaling a renewed commitment to improving service delivery and the welfare of residents.
The show of unity was witnessed during a church service at St. Peter's Cathedral, where the legislators joined hundreds of Christians for the installation of a Lay Canon. Their joint attendance was seen as a strong message that the district's leaders are determined to prioritize development over political divisions.
Speaking at the event, Serere District Woman Member of Parliament Esther Lucy Acom said the district's legislators have resolved to work together in the interest of the people. She emphasized that their collective focus will be on improving infrastructure, enhancing public services, and ensuring that every part of Serere benefits from government development programmes. "Our priority is to serve the people of Serere.
We have agreed to work together and ensure that development reaches every corner of the district," Acom said. Kasilo County MP Peter Paul Emaju said the spirit of cooperation among the district's leaders marks the beginning of a new chapter for Serere. "This time around, Serere is going to develop much further because we have chosen unity over division.
Together, we can achieve more for our people," Emaju noted. Serere County MP Omoding Emmanuel also reaffirmed the legislators' commitment to working as one team, saying unity among leaders is essential for effective service delivery and sustainable development.
He called upon residents to support the leaders' shared vision, noting that cooperation between leaders and the community is vital in transforming the district.
