The Private Secretary in charge of mobilization in the office of President Otuko Augustine has honored the late Papa Aema's contributions to Katakwi district and Uganda at large.
Otuko made his tribute while speaking to the mourners during the sendoff of Mzei Joseph Aema former Rtd DPC at his home in Lalei village, Lalei parish, Akoboi sub-county, Ngariam County in Katakwi district on 24-7-2024 last week.
According to Otuko, Mzei Aema was one of the leaders who loved education and development in Katakwi district and Uganda as well.
“We have lost every important elder who was our dictionaries and only young people who are left now in the sub-region of Teso,” he said.
He urged political rivals to focus on virtuous politics rather than slander while seeking a mandate from electorates during forthcoming general elections and he asked the electorates to support Her Excellency Rtd Maj Jessica Rose Alupo Epel.
He warned Ngariam's race colleagues that his campaign is yet to begin and the time will come.
Meanwhile, LCV chairperson of Katakwi district Hon Geoffrey Omolo praised the fallen Aema as a humble and peaceful servant that Katakwi as a district has lost.
Omolo appealed to the people of Katakwi to emulate Mzei Aema’s deeds if we want to develop our district generously.
"As leaders of Katakwi district let's stop politicizing government programs but focus on our performance," Omolo said
Godfrey Katamba the Resident District Commissioner Katakwi district during his submission urges the communities to support government programs ie; PDM, Emyonga, and WEP to eradicate poverty in our societies.
He therefore assured the people of Katakwi that there would be a peaceful 2026 election.
