SOROTI - Soroti Thunders Football Club has proudly revealed its new kits and lineup, setting an ambitious tone for the upcoming regional league. This historic event is a testament to the club’s dedication to making football accessible and exciting for everyone from the youngest fans to the most seasoned supporters.
Led by CEO Jojo Conelias, Soroti Thunders FC is not only ready to compete but also committed to building a community that rallies around the beautiful game.
Jojo Conelias, the energetic CEO of Soroti Thunders, shared his vision for the club, emphasizing its mission to foster a love of football across all age groups. "We believe in football for all," Conelias stated. "Our goal is to engage fans of all ages, from children to the elderly, and even include those with unique challenges. Soroti Thunders is more than a club; it’s a family where everyone belongs." He highlighted the club's upcoming Under-15 Junior League, set for December, which he believes will be a launchpad for future stars who may one day play professionally on the international stage.
Conelias’s remarks showed his faith in Soroti Thunders’ capability to inspire greatness: "Soroti Thunders doesn’t lose, not in spirit or in drive. This league will allow us to nurture young stars who might one day represent us abroad, playing on bigger stages."
Coach John Francis Ocen also expressed his pride in this milestone, appreciating the technical team for making the day a success. "I’m so, so glad for this beautiful day. Our technical team has put in tremendous effort, and it’s a proud moment to see our team smartly presented and ready to compete.
This is a first for a regional division club like ours. Usually, only Super League or Big League teams hold events like this, but we are here to show the world that we are serious about promoting football in Uganda."
Ocen credited the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) for its role in enhancing the club’s coaching standards. "Thanks to FUFA, we have quality coaches who bring a higher standard to the game. We are committed to delivering quality football, and with the talented players we have, we’re confident they won’t disappoint the fans."
In addition to fostering local talent, Soroti Thunders has partnered with Mafro from Singapore to design their new kits, further bolstering the club’s identity and international presence. This collaboration promises to bring exciting opportunities, including the chance to compete in the Mafro Cup, which will bring global attention to the team.
Caroline Apecho, the brand ambassador, commended the team’s unity and drive, encouraging both players and fans to continue supporting each other. "Soroti Thunders isn’t just about football," she said. "We’re building a legacy for our community, and it’s a legacy that’s going to inspire generations to come."
With their new kits and a dedicated team, Soroti Thunders FC is ready to take on the regional league with strength, resilience, and a commitment to football for all. As they march into this season, they do so with the support of Soroti City and the determination to create a brighter future for Ugandan football.
