Soroti, Uganda – The Iteso Cultural Leader, Emorimor Papa Paul Sande Emolot Etomeileng, has expressed his deep appreciation to President Yoweri Museveni for entrusting the late Brigadier-General Charles Oluka with the noble duty of safeguarding Uganda’s security.
Speaking during the requiem mass at St. Patrick Catholic School in Soroti, Emorimor described the late General as a man of honor, dedication, and selfless service. He noted that Oluka’s unwavering commitment to the nation had left an indelible mark, making his passing a great loss not only to his family but to the entire country.
"Brigadier-General Oluka was a man of discipline, integrity, and immense dedication to his country. I thank President Museveni for trusting him with the responsibility of keeping Uganda safe. His service was not just a duty; it was a calling that he answered with loyalty and courage," Emorimor stated.
With a voice filled with emotion, he urged the Iteso people to remain steadfast in prayer, seeking peace for the bereaved family and the entire community. He emphasized the importance of faith during times of sorrow, calling upon the people to unite and support one another.
"In this moment of grief, I call upon all Iteso to turn to God. Let us pray for peace in our hearts, in our homes, and in our country. Let us also pray for the soul of our dear brother, that he may find eternal rest. In times of loss, we must stand strong together," he urged.
Brigadier-General Charles Oluka, known for his commitment to national security, was celebrated as a true patriot whose work helped strengthen Uganda’s stability. His passing has left a void in the security sector and the hearts of those who knew him.
As the mourners gathered in solemn reflection, Emorimor’s words served as a powerful reminder that even in the face of grief, unity, and faith can guide a people forward. His message was clear—Brigadier-General Oluka’s legacy must be honored, and his memory must inspire resilience and togetherness.
