AMURIA - As part of his grassroots cultural tour, Papa Emorimor Paul Sande Emolot Etomeileng continues to advocate for education and cultural preservation across the Teso sub-region.

Before heading to Amolo Sub County in Amuria District for a cultural meeting with clan elders and members of the public, he visited Wera Seed Secondary School and Wera Technical School to engage with students on key issues affecting their future.

Accompanied by Akaliat Her Royal Majesty Juliet Among Emolot Atomeileng, the leaders emphasized the transformative power of education in shaping the region’s development.

Speaking to the students, Akaliat Juliet Among Emolot warned against early marriages, urging them to stay focused on their education.

"Let’s fight early teen marriages. Early marriages are not good because they ruin the future. Be model children—work hard, be disciplined, and read your books," she advised.

Papa Emorimor Paul Sande Emolot Etomeileng called on clan heads and school owners to work closely in ensuring students stay in school. He emphasized that clans can contribute financially to support education and reduce school dropouts.

"The UGX 100,000 that can be raised from every clan should be directed toward supporting education. This will help address challenges of school dropouts," he stated.

Papa Emorimor expressed optimism about the future of education in Teso, particularly with the presence of Soroti University.

"In ten years, I envision a transformed Teso. I see academic performance greatly improving," he said, encouraging students to embrace discipline, uphold their cultural values, and seek wisdom through prayer.

Recognizing the importance of technical education, he encouraged students to acquire practical skills that will empower them economically and contribute to the region’s development.

"We need to build a strong human resource that will drive progress. Hands-on skills for those in technical education will be a great asset in empowering our youth," he emphasized.

This visit reinforced the significance of education, cultural values, and collective responsibility in shaping the future of young people in Teso.
