Soroti City – Hon. Ekutelek John Jr Okwii, the Youth Councillor for Soroti City and MP Aspirant for Soroti City East Division in 2026, has extended warm Eid al-Fitr greetings to the Muslim community in Soroti and beyond. The occasion marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, a period of fasting, prayer, and reflection for Muslims worldwide.
Hon. Ekutelek, who joined the Muslim community for prayers in Soroti City, took the opportunity to emphasize the importance of unity and peace during the celebrations. He encouraged all individuals to uphold the core values of love, peace, and generosity, which are central to the spirit of Eid al-Fitr.
"On this blessed day, as we come together to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, I encourage everyone to continue embodying the values of love, peace, and generosity," Ekutelek said in his message. "These values are not only key to the celebration of Eid but also to fostering unity and harmony within our communities."
He further highlighted that the spirit of Eid al-Fitr goes beyond religious boundaries and should serve as a reminder to all of the importance of strengthening relationships, promoting goodwill, and building a cohesive society.
"I believe that by embracing these values, we can create stronger, more unified communities where everyone feels valued and respected," Ekutelek added.
As Soroti City celebrates Eid, Ekutelek’s message serves as a call for people of all backgrounds to work together towards a common goal of peace and understanding. His words resonate with his commitment to bringing people together, both as a public figure and as an aspirant for political office.
