Amuria District:A wave of youthful support is building behind Noah Omuya, a seasoned journalist and community advocate, as he vies for the position of Youth Member of Parliament representing Eastern Uganda.

During the Local Council I and party structure primaries held today in Wera Sub-County, Amuria District, a large group of energetic and determined young people publicly declared their unwavering support for Omuya’s candidacy. Many cited his strong ties to the community and consistent advocacy for youth issues as key reasons behind their support.

“Noah understands the real needs of the youth because he has lived among us and worked closely with the community,” one youth leader remarked at the gathering. “For the first time, our village is united around a candidate who values integrity and issue-based leadership.”

Omuya, a well-known figure in the Teso sub-region media landscape, has worked with multiple local media houses and previously served as a news anchor at TV East. His journalism background and engagement with parliamentary affairs have earned him respect for his informed and articulate approach to public discourse.

Speaking with locals, Omuya reiterated his commitment to servant leadership and community empowerment. “You, the people, know the kind of leader you want. I have not come to benefit myself but to serve with humility and purpose,” he said.

He further urged all candidates emerging from the primaries to prioritize unity and collaboration for the greater good. “We must work together beyond party lines to uplift our communities,” he emphasized.

Notably, Omuya remains unopposed at the village-level primaries in his home area of Ariamet, signaling strong grassroots support.

As the 2026 general elections approach, Omuya’s growing popularity in Wera Sub-County highlights a broader shift toward youth-led, community-based political participation in Eastern Uganda. His campaign is increasingly seen as a beacon of hope for young voters eager for inclusive and transformational leadership.
