Journalist Simon Peter Egwoku, popularly known as Captain Angel, has officially announced his departure from the media industry to pursue a political career.
Egwoku, who began his media journey in 2012 at Savior Radio, has cultivated a diverse skill set as a news anchor, DJ, and show host over the years. He moved to Delta Radio in 2019 and later joined its sister station, Kyoga Veritas Radio, further establishing his presence in the broadcasting landscape.
Today, Egwoku took a pivotal step in his new political journey by obtaining nomination forms from the National Resistance Movement (NRM) to represent Wera sub-county at the Amuria District Council.
In his announcement, Egwoku expressed his desire to address the pressing issues affecting his community.
“Proper service delivery is still lacking in my sub-county,” he stated. “I have been a voice for the people on the radio for so many years; I now want to be on the frontline where decisions for my people are made.”
Egwoku’s transition from media to politics highlights his commitment to serving his community and addressing the challenges faced by his constituents.
As he embarks on this new chapter, many are eager to see how his experience in media will influence his political endeavors.
