SOROTI - The Deputy Mayor of Soroti City, Juliet Ipagi Onanyang, has officially picked up nomination forms to contest for the Woman Councilor position representing Soroti City West “B” Division, signaling her intent to reclaim her seat in the Soroti City Council.
Ipagi, who also serves as the Councilor for Soroti City West Division, announced at the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Regional Party Electoral Commission offices in Soroti City, declaring her readiness to continue serving her constituents.
"This moment marks a major milestone in my journey to continue representing the people of Soroti City West," Ipagi stated. "With deep humility and a profound sense of duty, I have officially picked my nomination forms to contest for the Woman Councilor seat."
The Deputy Mayor expressed her gratitude to the residents of Soroti City for their continued trust and support, pledging to uphold key principles such as dedication, transparency, and development-focused leadership.
She reaffirmed her commitment to service delivery and community empowerment, emphasizing her plans to push for initiatives that improve infrastructure, enhance public services, and foster sustainable growth within the city.
"I am determined to be a voice for the voiceless and to champion policies that uplift and empower our communities," she added.
Ipagi’s declaration is expected to galvanize support from FDC loyalists and beyond, positioning her as a formidable contender in the upcoming Soroti City electoral race.
In her role as Deputy Mayor under Soroti City Mayor Joshua Edogu, Ipagi has represented the city on various platforms and played an instrumental part in the city’s governance—a record that bolsters her credentials for the Woman Councilor position.
Residents of Soroti City West Division have already begun to express their backing for Ipagi, indicating strong community support ahead of the final elections.
Having previously served as a successful FDC councilor for Soroti West Division, Ipagi’s experience and continued engagement with constituents further strengthen her prospects in the political arena.
