Toto Akaliat Graduates at Makerere University

His Royal Highness Paul Sande Emolot, Emorimor of the Iteso, today  joined his wife, Her Royal Majesty Juliet Among Emolot, in commemorating her graduation at Freedom Square, Makerere University. 

 

Toto Akaliat was among 35 participants who successfully completed a specialized course titled "The Science of Designing, Adapting, and Implementing Evidence-Based Parenting Interventions."


This course was developed through a collaboration between the Makerere University Child Health & Development Centre and the Ministry of Gender, Labour, and Social Development. Its mission is to enhance practitioners' abilities to develop, adapt, and execute evidence-based parenting interventions to support families effectively.


The ceremony featured Emorimor Paul Sande Emolot as the chief guest, celebrating the achievements of graduates. Representing the Vice Chancellor of Makerere University was Professor Hellen Nambalirwa Nkabala, Principal of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, who acknowledged the importance of such educational initiatives.


During her address, Professor Nkabala expressed gratitude to Emorimor for his generous support in enabling 10 students to pursue studies in Ateso at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. This gesture underscores a commitment to preserving and promoting cultural education within the Teso community.


The graduation of Toto Akaliat not only marks a personal milestone but also signifies a step forward in the advancement of evidence-based practices beneficial to parenting and community development in the Teso region and beyond.
