Katakwi District – Dan Mulalu, the Private Secretary for Political Mobilization in the Office of the President and Executive Director of the Kazi Ni Kazi Foundation, officially launched his bid to contest in the 2025 National Resistance Movement (NRM) party primaries for Member of Parliament for Ngariam County.

Speaking at the well-attended campaign launch on Friday at Kololo Ward in Katakwi Town Council, Mulalu presented a vision anchored in development, unity, and peaceful political engagement. The event drew a large gathering of supporters, including youth representatives, party leaders, and opinion leaders from across the district.

“Politics is about raising the people’s voices and responding to their needs. I stand before you not just as a candidate but as a servant committed to building a better Ngariam for all,” Mulalu told the cheering crowd.

Mulalu highlighted several community-centered projects initiated under the Kazi Ni Kazi Foundation over the past three years. These include:

Healthcare: Procurement and delivery of medical equipment worth UGX 310 million to improve district health services.

Water Access: Rehabilitation and drilling of over 220 boreholes across Ngariam County to tackle water scarcity.

Agriculture: Distribution of improved seeds to farmers, leading to increased yields and improved household incomes.

Education: Provision of textbooks to government-aided schools, and installation of solar lighting in rural schools to support evening study programs.

Trade and Infrastructure: Installation of solar lights in trading centers to extend business hours and improve local commerce.

Mulalu also revealed that the foundation had facilitated the repatriation of nine young Ugandans who had been trafficked to Arab countries under illegal labor arrangements.

Addressing past election-related tensions in the area, Mulalu strongly condemned political violence and called on all contenders to maintain peace during the campaign season.

“Ngariam has seen election-related violence in the past, but we must change that. Politics should be about sharing ideas, not intimidation. I urge all my colleagues and supporters to conduct peaceful, respectful campaigns,” he emphasized.

He warned against voter bribery and manipulation, noting that genuine leadership must be built on trust and service.

“Let those who bring money not fool you. Accept it if you must, but vote based on ideas and what someone has done for the community,” Mulalu urged.

Mulalu revealed that there had been attempts to divert his nomination to a different constituency, but the issue was swiftly corrected. He affirmed his readiness for the upcoming party primaries and assured the people of Ngariam of a campaign rooted in transparency and inclusiveness.

“I believe in the strength of the people. This campaign is not just about me—it’s about us. It’s about the voice of Ngariam and the future we want to build together.”

Mulalu concluded by unveiling his campaign task force, which he said would be instrumental in mobilizing support across the constituency. He promised to release a detailed manifesto soon, focused on long-term development goals.

“We need a united Ngariam—one where every child can go to school, every farmer can prosper, and every voice is heard. Together, we will make this vision a reality.”

The 2025 parliamentary race in Ngariam County is expected to be one of the most closely watched contests in Katakwi District, and Mulalu’s message of development, peace, and integrity appears to be striking a strong chord with the electorate.
