SOROTI - Isaac Orego, Parliamentary aspirant for Soroti City East Division, has committed to supporting the Atagoro Youth Development Association, which was officially launched today in Kengerer Ward. The initiative, aimed at empowering the youth financially, seeks to offer a platform for young people to save money, access loans, and build sustainable economic opportunities.

In his address at the event, Orego underscored the significance of fostering youth-led initiatives as a key strategy for long term community development. "This association is a beacon of hope for the youth of Soroti City East Division. By providing the tools and resources necessary for financial growth, we are enabling young people to shape their own futures," Orego said.

The association, which already has 50 members, is designed to provide youth with the ability to save, borrow, and invest in their personal and business development. The Chairperson of the association, Oyaba Saviour, highlighted the group's core mission: "Our goal is to ensure that every young person in our community has the opportunity to develop financially and contribute meaningfully to the local economy."

Eriau Jimmy, the Secretary of the association, also expressed gratitude for the successful launch, emphasizing the transformative impact the initiative will have on its members. "This association is more than just a savings group,it is a movement towards financial empowerment and independence," Eriau noted.

Juliet Agonyo, Speaker of Soroti City Council and Woman MP aspirant for Soroti City, was the chief guest at the event. She commended the initiative and pledged her support to ensure the youth's development is a priority in local governance. "I stand with the youth of Soroti, and I will work tirelessly to ensure that their dreams are realized," Agonyo affirmed.

With strong backing from local leaders, the Atangoro Youth Development Association is poised to become a key driver of economic empowerment in Soroti.
