KAMPALA – The 10th edition of the highly anticipated Alur Cultural Festival has been officially confirmed to take place on Saturday, December 7th, at the Millennium Park Lugogo. The announcement was made during a press conference held Saturday evening in Kampala, setting the stage for a grand celebration of Alur heritage.
Omwon Francis Denis, CEO of the Alur Cultural Festival, assured the public that preparations are well underway to ensure a successful event. "The preparations are going on well and we are done with security, UCC and KCCA clearances,” Omwon Francis Denis stated, highlighting the smooth progress in obtaining all necessary approvals.
Attendees can look forward to a vibrant display of Alur culture, with organizers confirming a packed program featuring numerous traditional dance performances and a wide array of authentic Alur foods. The festival will also include performances from top artists hailing from Northern Uganda, whose identities are yet to be revealed, adding an element of surprise to the event.
Beyond celebrating Alur culture, the festival aims to foster inter-tribal understanding and appreciation. Francis reiterated the open invitation to all communities, stating, “We would like to invite people from other ethnic groups to come and experience Alur Heritage that we shall be showcasing to the world.”
