Ngora, Uganda — Kapir County parliamentary hopeful Oleja James, widely known by his popular name “Acomorok,” has vowed to bring a new wave of development to Kapir County through improved education, better infrastructure, enhanced healthcare, and other key social services.

Speaking shortly after his nomination at the Ngora District Electoral Commission offices, Acomorok expressed gratitude to his supporters and the electoral officials for a peaceful and transparent process. He said his decision to run for Parliament is driven by a desire to uplift the living standards of the people of Kapir and ensure equitable development across all communities.

“My dream is to see a transformed Kapir County where every child can access quality education, every patient receives decent medical care, and our roads are passable all year round,” Acomorok stated. “For too long, our people have suffered from neglect and underdevelopment. It is time for change — a change that prioritizes the needs of ordinary citizens.”

Focus on Education and Youth Empowerment

Acomorok emphasized that education will be at the heart of his development agenda, noting that many schools in Kapir lack adequate facilities, trained teachers, and learning materials. He promised to advocate for increased government funding for schools, as well as bursary programs to support children from low-income families.

“We must invest in education if we want to break the cycle of poverty,” he said. “An educated generation will build a stronger Kapir for the future.”

He also highlighted plans to empower young people through vocational training, entrepreneurship support, and sports development programs, aimed at reducing unemployment and promoting innovation among youth.

Improving Health Services and Infrastructure

The aspiring legislator pledged to improve access to quality healthcare by advocating for the rehabilitation of health centers, ensuring that each parish has a functional health unit equipped with drugs and qualified medical personnel.

On infrastructure, Acomorok promised to push for the rehabilitation of feeder roads and improvement of water supply systems to connect rural communities to markets and essential services.

“Our farmers struggle to transport their produce because roads are in poor condition. We must fix that if we want to grow our local economy,” he remarked.

After his nomination, Acomorok held a thanksgiving mass at his home, where he celebrated with family, friends, and hundreds of supporters. The event was marked by prayers, songs of praise, and messages of hope for the constituency.

Supporters described him as a humble, development-minded leader who understands the challenges faced by the people of Kapir.

“Acomorok has always been close to the community. He listens to us, helps where he can, and we believe he is the right person to represent us in Parliament,” said one supporter during the celebration.

Acomorok concluded by calling for peaceful campaigns and unity among residents of Kapir County. He urged fellow candidates to conduct issue-based campaigns and respect one another for the good of the community.

“Leadership is not about fighting each other; it is about serving the people. I am ready to serve Kapir with transparency, integrity, and dedication,” he pledged.

As the campaign season unfolds, Acomorok’s message of transformation, inclusivity, and service continues to resonate with voters eager for a fresh start in Kapir County.
