The incumbent Member of Parliament for Kapelebyong District,Hon.Esenu Anthony has been duly nominated to contest in the forthcoming general elections as an independent Candidate.

Following his nomination, Esenu cautioned residents against voting for corrupt leaders who exploit public resources for personal gain, urging them to elect leaders focused on integrity, accountability, and development.

Esenu, who previously represented the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), decided to run as an independent after expressing dissatisfaction with the party’s primary elections, which he said were marred by irregularities. He reaffirmed his commitment to continue serving the people of Kapelebyong and advancing the district’s development agenda regardless of political affiliations.

Reflecting on his tenure, Esenu highlighted achievements in the education and health sectors, including the establishment of new schools, a seed secondary school, and several health centres. He attributed these developments to a strong partnership between his leadership and the central government.

“Kapelebyong was once among the most disorganized districts, but together we have restored order and progress,” Esenu stated. “Allow me to continue serving so that we can elevate this district even further. Let us vote for leaders who bring development, not those who misuse public resources and frustrate opportunities for our people.”

He further condemned corruption, nepotism, and electoral malpractice, warning that such vices threaten the district’s growth. “We must reject leaders who have stolen public property, manipulated elections, and exploited their positions for personal benefit,” he emphasized.

Esenu’s nomination as an independent candidate marks a defining moment in Kapelebyong’s political landscape, setting the stage for a closely contested race as voters weigh continuity in his development agenda against potential new leadership.
