Soroti City — Parliamentary hopeful David Calvin Echodu officially launched his campaign for the Soroti City West Constituency on Today, pledging a leadership style rooted in accountability, practical service delivery, and inclusive community engagement.

The launch, held at Pamba Primary School in Pamba Ward, attracted a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters who lined the streets from Opuyo to the venue, waving NRM flags and chanting in support of the aspirant. The turnout underscored growing excitement around Echodu’s bid and the momentum his campaign has gained in recent weeks.

In his keynote address, Echodu emphasized the need for a transformative and results-oriented leadership approach in Soroti City West. He said the constituency had for long been underserved, and that residents now deserved a leader committed to fulfilling promises and delivering tangible improvements.

“This campaign is about restoring trust through accountability and ensuring that service delivery is not just spoken about, but experienced by every resident,” he said. “Our people deserve leadership that listens, acts, and delivers.”

Echodu highlighted that his recent tenure as NRM Vice-Chair for the region had strengthened his understanding of community needs and broadened his ability to advocate effectively. He reassured residents that his national responsibilities had not distanced him from the constituency but had instead deepened his commitment to return and serve.

Residents who attended the event described Echodu as a grounded and approachable leader, noting his active involvement in community welfare activities. Youth and women’s groups praised his focus on engagement and accountability, stating that his message resonated with their expectations for a more responsive style of governance.

The campaign launch followed a door-to-door mobilization effort that began earlier in the day in Opuyo Ward. Echodu said the approach was vital for understanding the daily challenges residents face, adding that his campaign would continue to prioritize direct interaction with households and local groups.

As the race for Soroti City West intensifies, political observers say Echodu’s blend of grassroots support, party backing, and emphasis on transparency positions him as a strong contender.
