Dakabela County – Parliamentary contestant Harriet Anyimo is making waves in Dakabela County as she actively engages local leaders and constituents, emphasizing unity, service, and the critical role of women in leadership.

Earlier today, Anyimo met with Local Council leaders (LC1s and LC2s) from Katine and Oculoi sub-counties at her residence in Awidiayan Village, Katine Sub-county. The discussions centered on pressing community issues, sharing ideologies, and gathering pledges to drive sustainable development across the county.

Anyimo, contesting as an independent candidate under the symbol of a pot, highlighted that effective leadership is about service rather than gender. She likened herself to a pot, capable of performing multiple roles to serve the community.

“Some say a woman cannot lead, but I am here to serve the people. I perform as effectively as any man,” she told the assembled local leaders. She further emphasized that independent candidates have the legal right to contest, countering claims that political party affiliation is the only path to Parliament.

In her address, Anyimo outlined her vision for Dakabela County, which includes:

Reviving culture and traditions, improving health and education services, upgrading road networks to ease movement, supporting youth, women, widows, and persons living with disabilities and others.

She criticized previous leadership for failing to deliver tangible results, noting that despite having representatives in Parliament, Dakabela has lagged behind in development.

Local Council leaders praised Anyimo’s proactive approach:

Esiru Nicholas (LC1): “Leadership in Dakabela has been poor, but Anyimo brings hope. We are looking forward to her leadership.”

Emiru Enoch (LC1): “Her programs and inclusive approach show that she can achieve real change even before going to Parliament.”

Okwere Stephen (LC1): “Anyimo is like a star that has fallen into Dakabela. She has already advocated for many causes, and we believe she will succeed.”

Harriet Anyimo’s campaign highlights a commitment to inclusive governance, unity, and service. By engaging directly with local leaders and addressing long-standing community challenges, she positions herself as a transformative leader capable of redefining politics in Dakabela County.
