Serere Woman MP-Elect Pays Tribute to Late Rev. Ewatu Stephen

Earlier today, the Serere District Woman Member of Parliament-elect, Hon. Acom Esther Lucy, joined mourners in Kyere, Angolei to bid farewell to Rev. Ewatu Stephen, whose burial was attended by family, clergy, leaders, and members of the community.


Speaking during the burial, Hon. Acom fondly remembered the late Rev. Ewatu as a man of faith who stood with her during a defining moment of her political journey. She recalled how he honoured her invitation to pray for her on the day she launched her campaign, describing his support as spiritually uplifting and deeply encouraging.

 

She expressed heartfelt sorrow over his passing, noting that his absence will be greatly felt not only by his family but also by the wider community he served with dedication and humility.

 

In a gesture of compassion and commitment to the family of the late, Hon. Acom announced that she has taken responsibility for one of Rev. Ewatu’s children who is joining Senior One, pledging to support the child through their education until completion.

 

The burial service was led by Bishop Odongo Kosea, who served as the main celebrant. In his sermon, the Bishop called on believers to live purposeful lives rooted in faith and service, drawing lessons from the life and ministry of the late Rev. Ewatu Stephen.

 

Mourners described the late Rev. Ewatu as a devoted servant of God whose legacy of prayer, guidance, and community service will continue to inspire many.
