In a heartwarming story of resilience and brotherhood, triplets from Soroti City have emerged as shining examples of perseverance after all three successfully passed the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) 2025 examinations despite years of battling illness and financial hardship.
Isaac Odongo, Abraham Opio, and Jacob Ochen, who have walked side by side since day one, celebrated a milestone achievement this week as results from the 2025 UACE exams were released. The brothers, who studied at the prestigious Teso College Aloet in Aloet, Serere District, credit their success to unwavering mutual support, discipline, and faith.
Isaac Odongo led the trio with an impressive 20 points in Physics, Mathematics, and Technical Drawing. His brother Abraham Opio followed closely with 18 points, excelling in Physics, Economics, and Mathematics. The youngest of the three—though all born minutes apart—Jacob Ochen scored 16 points, demonstrating strength in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
"All through our journey, we’ve been together — in sickness and in success," said Isaac during an interview at their home in Soroti City. "There were times when all three of us would fall sick at once — with malaria, stomach ulcers, or fatigue — but we never let that break our spirit. We kept encouraging one another."
The triplets began their education at Soroti Parents Primary School, where they were inseparable. Their academic journey continued at Teso College Aloet, where they completed both their O-Level and A-Level studies. Throughout these years, the family faced mounting financial pressures, often struggling to pay school fees, buy textbooks, or afford adequate medical care.
At Teso College Aloet, the brothers became known not only for their academic dedication but also for their teamwork. Teachers describe them as disciplined and humble.
The Odongo-Opio-Ochen brothers now await university admissions, carrying with them the dreams of their family
