KAMPALA - With only days remaining to the official unveiling of We Can Be More: The Courage to Grow, The Strength to Rise, celebrated Ugandan orthopaedic surgeon Dr. John Ekure is rallying the public to embrace purposeful living as a pathway to personal and societal transformation.
The highly anticipated launch is scheduled for Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Hotel Africana, where guests will gather in Nile Hall from 4:00 PM for what organisers describe as more than just a book event but a moment of reflection, inspiration, and renewed commitment to growth.
Dr. Ekure, fondly known as “The Bone Doctor from Kumi,” uses his latest publication to challenge individuals to rise above limitations and live intentionally. Drawing from his journey from humble rural beginnings to becoming a leading specialist in orthopaedics, trauma, and spine surgery, he emphasizes that true success lies not in comfort, but in contribution.
In We Can Be More, Dr. Ekure highlights the importance of aligning passion with purpose, discipline, and consistent action. He argues that while many people dream, only those willing to act with courage and persistence are able to create lasting impact.
“True strength is found in service, and a meaningful legacy is measured not by recognition but by contribution,” he writes.
The event will also serve a greater cause, with proceeds supporting the Elizabeth Opola Foundation, an initiative dedicated to educating underprivileged youth and promoting environmental conservation across Uganda.
Beyond his medical achievements, Dr. Ekure is the founder of the Kumi Orthopaedic Centre and a respected motivational speaker advocating for youth empowerment, innovation, and hard work. He also contributes to national environmental efforts through his role at the National Environment Management Authority, where he champions sustainable practices and conservation initiatives.
His work has earned recognition at the highest level, with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni previously praising him as a visionary who has transformed adversity into opportunity and continues to shape lives through service.
Organisers are encouraging members of the public, including professionals, students, youth leaders, and entrepreneurs, to attend the launch and be part of a movement centered on purpose and impact.
“This is not just about a book,” organisers noted. “It is about igniting a mindset shift where individuals leave inspired to act, serve, and truly become more.”
The evening will feature networking opportunities, book signings, and engaging conversations aimed at sparking change both at personal and community levels.
