Soroti City – Joy, pride, and inspiration filled the atmosphere as Jeressar High School held a vibrant ceremony to celebrate its outstanding academic performers of 2025, while also recognizing the exceptional contribution of its teaching staff.

The colorful event brought together school administrators, teachers, parents, religious leaders, and distinguished guests in a united show of appreciation for the school’s continued academic success and strong culture of excellence. The ceremony began with recognition of the tireless efforts of the administration, teaching staff, and religious leaders whose guidance has played a crucial role in shaping learners’ achievements.

Teachers were formally introduced, highlighting the dedicated team behind the school’s impressive academic record. Students also took center stage, with inspiring presentations delivered by Musuya Regin (O-Level top performer) and Amoni Kenneth (A-Level top performer), who reflected on the journey to success and the discipline required to excel. Their speeches resonated strongly with fellow students, especially those preparing for national examinations.

In her address, the Head Teacher, Asekenye Bertha, applauded the 2025 candidates for their outstanding performance, describing their results as a reflection of hard work, discipline, and commitment. “Success is not accidental. It is built on determination, consistency, and the willingness to go the extra mile,” she emphasized. Asekenye Bertha also used the opportunity to recognize and reward the school’s top-performing staff, noting that academic excellence is not only achieved by students but is also driven by the dedication, professionalism, and passion of teachers.

She further encouraged the 2026 candidates, particularly those in Senior Four and Senior Six, to remain focused and determined in their academic journey. In addition, she extended heartfelt gratitude to parents and guardians for their continued support, describing education as a shared responsibility between the school and families. The event also recognized the presence and contributions of key dignitaries, including religious leaders and local authorities, whose support continues to strengthen the school community.

Delivering a powerful keynote message, Bishop Mathew Omagor urged students to anchor their lives on strong values and faith in God. Drawing from biblical teachings, he reminded learners that true success is built on a firm foundation. “Becoming successful is not a one-time event,it is a continuous journey. With discipline, courage, and commitment, every student can become an achiever,” he said.

He further stressed the importance of maintaining good relationships, encouraging students to treat others with respect and humility as they pursue their goals.

As Jeressar High School continues to register impressive academic results, the event served not only as a celebration of past success but also as a powerful reminder that excellence is a shared effort driven by students, teachers, and strong leadership.
