National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate, Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine has been granted bail by the Iganga Chief Magistrate’s Court.
He was arrested on Wednesday and charged with holding rallies in violation of restrictions on gatherings imposed by the government to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Bobi Wine who appeared before Iganga Chief Magistrate, Jessica Chemeri on Friday was granted a shs.1m non cash bail and ordered to report to court on December 18th.
The singer turned politician was also cautioned to adhere to set guidelines by the Ministry of Health and the Electoral Commission to avoid the spread of COVID-19.
Presidential candidates; Mugisha Muntu, Gen. Tumukunde, Norbert Mao and John Katumba had suspended their campaigns protesting NUP's Robert Kyaggulanyi's arrest.
