After a closed-door meeting held at Eureka Place Hotel last night, the Organizing Committee of the Ateker cup unanimously agreed to recognize the contribution of the late Omax Omeda to the development of sports across the Teso Subregion and Uganda as a nation.
According to the letter sent to the Chairperson of Referees, the Ateker Cup CEO, Isaac Olupot informed the region that there will be a moment of silence observed in all pitches where Ateker games will be played this weekend in memory and in honor of Teso’s Great Son Papa Omax Omeda whose love and contribution in the realm of sports shall forever live on.
This decision comes to place as Ateker Cup thrilling action bounces back after a 2-week break in a title battle that will see the Kumam Derby between Kalaki and Kaberemaido, Amuria Vs their neighbors Katakwi and Soroti City visiting Kapebelyong in Teso North, while Serere having their first home game against Bukedea in Serere, Teso Tororo visiting the much thirsty Ngora and not forgetting the final game of the weekend dubbed the Oladot Rivalry between *Kumi and Pallisa* at Busitema University Pallisa grounds.
