The Police have this morning arrested female MPs outside Parliament’s main gate as they moved to deliver a petition to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The legislators were protesting against the harassment and brutality by security agencies.
The Members of parliament arrested include; Joan Namutaawe (Masaka District), Juliet Kakande (Masaka City), Betty Ethel Naluyima (Wakiso), Joyce Bagala (Mityana), Manjeri Kyebakutika (Jinja City), Nyakato Asinansi (Hoima City), Florence Kabugho (Kasese), Stella Isodo Apolot (Ngora), Helen Nakimuli (Kalangala), Hanifah Nabukeera (Mukono) and Joan Acom Alobo (Soroti City)
The legislators are currently detained at Kampala Central police station.
