Dan Mulalu Announces Plan to Connect Solar lights to Katakwi Schools

Katakwi - The State House Private Secretary in-charge of Political Mobilization and Affairs also political tormentor to the Minister for Sports Peter Ogwang has announced a mega plan to install solar lights to all government aided schools in his native Ngariam County, Katakwi District.

 

According to Daniel Mulalu who is plotting to unseat Minister Ogwang in 2026, the move is aimed at improving the educational standards across the county.

 

He said that he got moved to provide solar lighting to schools after seeing a P4 boy, Emmanuel Otengei from Ajeluk cell, Katakwi Town Council, Ngariam County pictured reading by the road at night with streetlights in Katakwi district in April 2023.

 

Otengei later met with the Vice President who offered him a scholarship Up to University. However, according to Mulalu this situation compelled him to start the initiative of putting solar lights in Schools.

 

He is hopeful that the launch of the program will be done before mid-August 2023 and all listed schools will be connected before the end of September 2023.

 

Ngariam County has over 20 government aided Primary schools.

 

Mulalu has also urged all parents to take their children to school without discrimination while encouraging citizens to continuously support the various programs of the government.

 

He further urged district technocrats, politicians and religious leaders to guide the community on the selection of profitable enterprises mainly on commercial agriculture and Information and Communications Technology.

 

Geoffrey Omolo the Katakwi LCV during the handover of new Curriculum books on July 13, 2023 by Mulalu in partnership with New Vision noted that there were challenges of underfunding and appealed to the well-wishers to support the district.

 

Omolo promised that the district was going to perform well in the forthcoming national examinations despite the challenges being faced by the district.

 

Juliet Chepteok, the Katakwi Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, states that they are engaging with various stakeholders to improve on the education in Katakwi.
