It was a joyous moment in Ngora district as a rural privately owned senior secondary school in Ngora emerged with the best results in the recently released S4 results by the Ministry of Education and Sports.

Teso Progressive Academy being the praised institution of learning, registered 120 students who sat for the UCE examination, 33 scored Division 1, 40 division two, division three 31, and Division IV 16.

Mr. Francis Okello the Deputy Principal of Academics of TEPA says, children were not disturbed at school following the commitment of parents to paying school fees, while teachers were tirelessly working for better results.

He noted that the school-classified students were managed by teachers themselves who would be responsible for every child as a school parent.

The Dean of Studies at TEPA Mr. George Onyait, Says for the education system to be developed in Teso, then stakeholders must unite and embrace home schools.

Among those who obtained Division One are; Samuel Opio, Sam Epodoi, Francis Omoding, Sharon Mary Aanyu, and Joy Alupo expressed gratitude saying, that their passing was full of humbleness.

A jubilating educationist called Samuel Okello, a resident of Komolo-Agule in the Ogooma sub-county Kumi district expressed his gratitude towards the good performance TEPA has shown as a great school in the Teso sub-region.

“I call upon all the parents of Teso region and stakeholders to unite and back the development of our schools in the region,” Okello said

Meanwhile, Simon Okwi the principal while handing results to the director says the passion and talent the staff has exhibited in reaching this far are truly commendable and hard work.

John Omugur the director of TEPA Ngora acknowledged the performance of unity hard work and discipline of students and being committed to God/prayers.

He urged the people of Teso to invest in education which he called the only weapon in the region, because our long ago pride was swept during insurgencies.

Meanwhile, Stephen Ekoom the resident district commissioner of Ngora district in his remarks during an interview with our reporter appreciated the management of different schools in Ngora for yielding good results.

Ekoom adds that the release of good results shows that Teso is over and over fostering education as a priority number one in the region. “As the government, we’re ready to continue working closely with government and private schools to change our mighty region” RDC. 

However, the RDC urged the people of Teso to embrace government programs i.e. Emyooga, Youth Livelihood program, and Parish Development Model to change the family income.
