NGORA - Hon. Achayo Juliet Lodou, the Member of Parliament for the county, has captured the essence of the season with a powerful and uplifting Christmas message. In her address to residents, she urged everyone to embrace the true meaning of Christmas - love, family, and togetherness - while encouraging moderation and security during celebrations.
“Christmas is a time to reflect on the birth of Christ and God’s incredible love for us,” Hon. Achayo began. “It’s also an opportunity to step away from our busy schedules and prioritize what truly matters: family and faith.” Her words struck a chord, emphasizing the importance of taking this season to bond with loved ones, strengthen family ties, and build the foundation for a stronger, united community.
Hon. Achayo’s message carried a special appeal to parents and guardians, urging them to use the holiday period to guide and counsel their children. “Strong families build strong nations,” she said, reminding parents of their vital role in shaping the next generation.
To the youth, her message was equally inspiring. Quoting the Bible from Ephesians 6:1-3, she said, “Honor your father and mother so that it may go well with you and you may enjoy long life on earth.” These timeless words, she added, are not just a religious directive but a pathway to a harmonious and fulfilling life.
Hon. Achayo also touched on the practical side of the festive season. She emphasized the importance of security, urging residents to be vigilant about protecting their homes and property. “Criminals often take advantage of the excitement of the season,” she warned, encouraging everyone to take personal and collective responsibility for safety.
Her advice extended to moderation in celebrations, with a strong caution against excesses such as overeating, overdrinking, overspending, and reckless driving. “There is life after Christmas,” she reminded residents. “Let’s celebrate responsibly so we can welcome the New Year with health, peace, and hope.”
As the county looks forward to 2025, Hon. Achayo expressed her commitment to fostering unity and prosperity in Ngora. She called on residents to reflect on shared goals and work together to achieve meaningful development.
“Christmas is not just a holiday; it’s a moment to renew our hope and determination for a better future,” she said. “Let us unite as one community and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead.”
Hon. Achayo’s message has resonated deeply with the people of Ngora County, who have praised her for her leadership and thoughtful words.
As the year draws to a close, her heartfelt wish for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year serves as a reminder of the values that bring people together: love, faith, and shared purpose.
