Jozan Primary School Matron Charged with Murder of 6 year old pupil

SOROTI - Adong Osula, the matron of Jozan Nursery and Primary School, was remanded in prison today in connection with the murder of 6-year-old Faith Joan Apio, a pupil at the school.

 

This brings the total number of suspects remanded to eight.

 

Osula, 34, is alleged to maliciously have caused the unlawful death of Apio on February 5, 2025.

 

Grade One Magistrate Kibirige Apolo Kasujja charged her with the offense and remanded her to Mbale Prison until March 6, 2025.

 

Earlier, on February 19, 2025, the same magistrate remanded seven other suspects, including the school’s director, Joseph Okedi, co-director Vivian Okedi, and police officer John Bosco Obotol.

 

The others include Valentine Opio, the school’s cook, James Edoket, the head teacher, and two juveniles.

They are also scheduled to reappear in court on March 6, 2025.

 

Apio’s body was found in a school pit latrine on February 5, 2025.
