NRM’s Amigo Leah Steals the Show at Soroti Women’s Day Celebrations

On March 20, 2025, a diverse group of leaders from Soroti and Teso congregated at Ocokican Primary School to commemorate Women’s Day. 

 

The initial atmosphere at the event was somewhat subdued; however, the mood transformed dramatically with the arrival of Amigo Leah, the aspiring NRM candidate for Soroti District Woman MP. 

 

As Amigo Leah made her entrance, a wave of energy swept through the crowd. The flamboyant politician was greeted by jubilant supporters who exuberantly carried her to her seat, causing the event's proceedings to pause momentarily. 

Leah’s vibrant presence and enthusiastic reception not only lifted the spirits of the attendees but also reignited the celebratory atmosphere, reminding everyone of the day's significance.

 

The celebrations were attended by several prominent leaders, including: MPs Adeke Anna, Alobo Joan, Aeku Patrick, Lilian Aber, Security officials,District staff, Minister Adoa Hellen  (the Chief Guest for the third consecutive year) and other political leaders.

 

These leaders contributed their voices to the discussions around women's empowerment and the important role women play in society.


Minister Adoa Hellen, addressing the gathering, emphasized the need for mutual respect between men and women as a cornerstone of peaceful and progressive households. Her remarks highlighted the importance of collaboration and understanding in fostering development within families and communities.

 

The belated Women’s Day celebrations, marked by Amigo Leah's electrifying presence, served as a powerful reminder of the contributions of women and the continued efforts needed to promote gender equality.
