Soroti City - In a spirited display of gratitude and recognition, Jeressar High School in Soroti City honored its teaching, non-teaching, and administrative staff during its annual Achievers’ Day celebration held on the school campus.

The day began with a solemn holy mass officiated by Rev. Samuel Eliabu, Dean of Students at Kumi University. His message set a reflective tone, uniting students, educators, and leaders in thanksgiving for the school’s accomplishments.

Central to the occasion was the presentation of financial and non-financial rewards to outstanding staff members. This symbolic gesture recognized the commitment and tireless efforts of those driving Jeressar’s academic vision.

Academic departments including English, Literature, Geography, Mathematics, and Physics were singled out for their stellar performance at both O’ Level and A’ Level, affirming the school’s dedication to educational excellence.

Speaking during the event, Mr. Oyematum Lawrence Kenneth, Chairperson of the Board of Governors, applauded the school community’s united spirit.  

“Achievers’ Day is a moment for reflection, celebration, and gratitude. It is a time to honor our students’ accomplishments and recognize the tireless efforts of those who mentor and guide them,” he said.

Mr. Oyematum also hailed the performance of the 2024 candidates, describing it as one of the strongest in the school’s recent history.  

“Their success is a reflection of teamwork, dedication, and a shared vision within the Jeressar community,” he added.

Among the awardees was Mr. Joseph Ocen, an English and Literature teacher, who spoke on behalf of the faculty.  

“Being acknowledged in this way is deeply motivating. It fuels our passion for teaching and reminds us of the impact we can make,” he said.

The annual Achievers’ Day has become a cornerstone of Jeressar High School’s calendar—celebrating excellence, fostering morale, and reinforcing the institution’s commitment to holistic development and community growth.
