Police today arrested Kyadondo East legislator Hon. Kyaggulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine as he was heading for his first consultative meeting at Gayaza, Wakiso district.
Bobi Wine and group were intercepted and arrested at Kasangati town after Police fired teargas and bullets to disperse off the crowds that were following him. He was taken to Kasangati Police station together with Hon Asuman Basalirwa, Joel Ssenyonyi, Hon. Latif Ssebagala and others
Police had earlier on deployed at Our Lady of Good Counsel Gayaza parish and ordered the people setting up the venue to vaccate.
According to police, the Kyadondo East MP did not provide them with a letter from patrons of the venue they meant to hold their event today. However, Joel Ssenyonyi the People Power Spokesperson said they had a letter from a Reverand father who gave them a letter indicating that the venue was cleared.
