Soroti City, Uganda – The sorrowful loss of six-year-old Apio Joan Faith, a young pupil whose life was tragically cut short under disturbing circumstances, has left the community in deep grief.

Apio was found dead on February 6, 2025, in a latrine at Jozan Nursery and Primary School, an incident that has sent shockwaves through the region and raised urgent questions about her untimely death. Authorities are continuing their investigations, leading to the closure of the school and the arrest of several staff members.

Apio Joan Faith, a vibrant and joyful child, is now remembered by her family, friends, and the community as a promising young girl whose life was stolen in its infancy. As the investigations unfold, the family has been left to deal with the overwhelming emotional pain of losing a beloved daughter, sister, and friend.

The grief of Apio’s parents is unimaginable. The family of Apio Joan Faith has now announced the official burial program, with plans to lay her to rest in her home village of Ateuso.

1:00 PM - 2:30 PM: A requiem mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Soroti City - East to honor Apio’s life.

2:40 PM - 3:00 PM: Members of the public will be invited to view the body at the family’s home in Nakatunya, near Harmony Nursery School, Soroti City - West.

Later: The body will be transported to Magoro Health Centre III for public viewing.

5:00 PM: The body will leave for Ateuso Village in Kapelebyong District, where Apio will be laid to rest.
