SOROTI – In a significant step toward enhancing community engagement and cultural preservation, the Iteso Cultural Union (ICU) has unveiled a Toyota Pajero to support its activities. The newly restored vehicle, previously abandoned at the ICU offices, was refurbished by Kira Motors and is now set to play a crucial role in mobilization and outreach efforts.

Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, Andrew Ochole, the Prime Minister of ICU, expressed his excitement about the addition, highlighting its importance in mobilizing resources, reaching out to clans, and implementing cultural development projects.

"Today, I am delighted that we've been able to add another vehicle to our fleet. This car will support us in mobilizing resources for the construction of the palace, reaching out to clans, and facilitating key projects. While not entirely new, it was abandoned, and the new administration saw the need to restore it for service," Ochole stated.

As part of the unveiling event, Bishop Bernard Ebiau, who oversees religious affairs within ICU, led a special prayer for the vehicle. He called for God’s guidance and protection over its use and praised the ICU leadership for its vision, commitment, and focus on community development.

“May this vehicle serve its intended purpose with safety and success. We thank our cultural leader for his dedication and leadership in ensuring ICU remains active in serving our people,” Bishop Ebiau prayed.

The vehicle, registered UBG 589V, is a reflection of Papa Emorimor’s leadership vision, which emphasizes accountability, sustainability, and grassroots engagement. Ochole commended the initiative, noting that the ICU administration is committed to being active in the field rather than being confined to offices.

"This year, we have ambitious plans in education, health, and cultural revitalization. With this vehicle, along with others we have acquired, we will be more efficient in reaching our communities,” Ochole added.

With the ICU’s cultural activities and development agenda in full swing, this restored Prado is expected to be a key asset in reaching remote areas, coordinating clan activities, and ensuring that ICU remains connected to its people.

As ICU continues to expand its operations, the unveiling of this vehicle is yet another step toward a proactive, community-driven administration.
