Kapchorwa, Uganda – Youth delegates from the Sebei sub-region — encompassing Kapchorwa, Kween, and Bukwo districts — have thrown their weight behind Emmanuel Omaria’s bid for Eastern Uganda Youth Member of Parliament, following a strategic consultative meeting held at Labamba Resort.
The delegates, representing the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Youth League, unanimously endorsed Omaria, citing his clear vision for youth empowerment through agribusiness as a timely and transformative agenda.
Speaking at the event, Omaria outlined a bold strategy focused on unlocking the economic potential of agriculture for young people in Eastern Uganda. He emphasized that agriculture remains the backbone of the country’s economy and should be rebranded as a viable and profitable career path for youth.
“We must change the narrative around agriculture. It is no longer just about survival — it’s a powerful tool for wealth creation, innovation, and independence,” Omaria stated. “If entrusted with leadership, I pledge to support youth-led agribusiness initiatives and distribute inputs such as coffee seedlings to kickstart sustainable livelihoods.”
Omaria’s remarks resonated with the audience, many of whom face high unemployment rates and limited access to economic opportunities. His pledge to champion youth agribusiness and provide hands-on support sparked excitement and hope among the delegates.
Mutai Alvin, Youth Chairperson for Kapchorwa Municipality, praised Omaria’s agenda, saying it reflects the real needs and aspirations of young people in the region.
“Emmanuel understands the struggles we face and has offered a clear, practical solution — agribusiness. With tools like seedlings, mentorship, and access to markets, our youth can thrive,” said Mutai.
Solimo Calvin, Youth Chairperson for Kapchorwa District, added that Omaria’s development-focused ideas mark a refreshing shift in youth leadership.
“We need leaders who are solution-oriented, and Omaria has proven to be just that. His focus on agriculture is not only strategic but also inclusive and empowering.”
The endorsement from Sebei youth is expected to significantly boost Omaria’s campaign across Eastern Uganda. His message of self-reliance, skills development, and agribusiness growth aligns with national goals of youth employment and rural development.
